Hyunsung Cho was born and raised in Korea. He was first introduced to glass when he was in Namseoul University, Cheonan, Korea.
Ever since then, he has been working with glass. After completing his first master’s degree in glass, 2004 from Kookmin University, Seoul, Korea, he built his own glass studio in Seoul, Korea. A few years later, he moved into US to study aboard. He then received his second master’s in glass, 2010 from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Since then, Hyunsung had worked at Creative Glass Center of America in Wheaton Arts in Millville, NJ as a resident artist for six years and worked at Glass Island Museum in Korea as an Associate Artistic Director. His work has been featured at numerous group show in US and Korea. In 2009, Hyunsung Cho was honored with a “ Best in Show” at BIGG: Breakthrough ideas in Global Glass, sponsored by Steuben Glass. He had received several scholarships from Pilchuck Glass School, Corning Museum of Glass and Pittsburg Glass Center. Presently, He is working as a full time artist in Korea.
